Sydney Private Tours & Day Trips
Blue Mountains, Royal National Park, Northern Beaches & Coastal Day Tours from Sydney
Sydney Nimble Tours specialises in private guided day tours from Sydney for solo travellers, couples, families and small groups - a more considered alternative to bus and large van tours.
Every tour explores a different side of Sydney and its surrounding landscapes: the Blue Mountains, Royal National Park, Northern Beaches, Bondi and the South Coast - each shaped around your interests, walking preference and pace.
A More Personal Way to Explore Sydney & Beyond
Each tour has a suggested shape, built around the best of the destination. Most guests follow it broadly and adjust as things unfold.
The pace is genuinely yours. A waterfall after rain earns extra time. A quiet beach that happens to be empty gets a longer stop. If you have particular interests in coastal walking, birdlife, geology or photography, your day gets shaped around them.
There is no fixed sequence and no rushing between stops. The commentary comes from years of knowing these landscapes, not a prepared script.
Coastal cliffs, forest trails & ocean lookouts
Forty-five minutes south of Sydney, the Royal National Park follows one of the finest stretches of coastline in New South Wales. The day moves between sandstone cliff walks, forest tracks and ocean lookouts, with a freshly prepared picnic somewhere along the way. Sea eagles are a regular sighting above the headlands. From May to November, the same cliffs are among the best whale watching spots in Sydney.
Sandstone valleys, waterfalls & ancient rainforest
An hour and a half west of Sydney, the plateau edge drops away and the Jamison Valley opens below. The blue haze is real, fine eucalyptus oil particles scattering light across the gorges. The Three Sisters at Echo Point are the famous landmark, but the mountains are large and there are quieter corners many tour itineraries never reach.
Clifftop walks, ocean pools & Sydney's eastern headlands
Bondi gets the attention, but the real interest on Sydney's eastern coast is what lies beyond it. The tour moves along the clifftop walk from Bondi to Bronte, past ocean pools carved into the sandstone, out to Watsons Bay and the sheer drop of The Gap. The harbour coves on the way back are a different Sydney entirely.
Surf coast, harbour headlands & Ku-ring-gai Chase
Thirty kilometres of coastline stretches north of the Harbour Bridge and most visitors never see it. The tour covers the surf beaches and ocean pools of the mid-coast, the long arc of Palm Beach, and the Aboriginal rock engravings and Pittwater views of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. From May to November, North Head is one of the best spots in Sydney to watch humpback and southern right whales passing through.
Sea cliffs, coastal towns & the Kiama coastline
An hour south of Sydney, the escarpment drops to the coast and the landscape changes. Basalt headlands replace sandstone, the Sea Cliff Bridge curves above the ocean, and the Kiama Blowhole does what it does on a day with swell.
Flexible itineraries across Sydney and beyond
Some guests arrive with a clear idea of what they want. Others prefer to have the conversation first. A custom tour can combine almost anything: coastal walks, harbour viewpoints, wildlife, architecture, national parks or quieter parts of the city that don't appear in any guidebook. The itinerary takes shape around your group.
Sandstone wilderness beyond the Blue Mountains
The Blue Mountains are well known. The Capertee Valley, immediately to the north, is not. One of the largest canyon valleys in the world, it has sandstone cliffs, open woodland and exceptional birdlife, including the critically endangered Regent Honeyeater. Two days allows proper time in both places, including parts of the range almost no day tour ever reaches.
As someone that owns a tour company myself, Greg was truly exceptional — exactly the kind of guide I would want all my guides to emulate. Courteous, kind, thoughtful and funny.
Greg had our day planned to avoid crowds and maximise what we were able to see. He provided a delicious picnic lunch, water and snacks throughout, and took care of our every need. A day to remember.
We loved the easy pick-up, delicious fresh picnic lunch and the flexible time on the beach. Customer service was unmatched — items lost in the vehicle were quickly returned!
The pacing was perfect and everything was extremely well-planned. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Sydney!
